(LOT #21) 1887 N284 Buchner Gold Coin Buck Ewing (Hands at Neck) SGC 50

In the N284 Buchner set, HOF'er Buck Ewing was issued in two different variations - Ready to Tag, and Hands at Neck.  This is card number 48, the Hands at Neck variation, out of a set of 143.  This set was produced by D. Buchner & Company for their chewing tobacco branded Gold Coin.  Cards measured 1-3/4 x 3" and were on a thicker card stock then other tobacco premiums of the time period.

On the SGC Population Report there are a total of 13 Buchner Gold Coin Ewing cards that they have graded which includes both variations.  Out of those 13 there are only 2 cards that grade higher than an SGC 50.  The only item to note on condition would be some minor tobacco residue on the upper left side on the front of the card.  The back of the card is totally clean.  A very strong example and one of the highest graded Buchner Gold Coin Ewing cards in existence.  A key HOFer to own from this series.  The centering of this card is near perfect.  Bright colors of Ewing standing on base.  Superb artwork.
