(LOT #180) 1935 R327 Diamond Stars
Lot includes two cards both in PSA 7 NRMT condition. The Diamond Stars
card series of 111 was issued by the National Chicle Company of Cambridge,
Massachusetts. The cards were issued during the Art Deco period which lasted
from 1925 - 1939. The Art Deco style is exhibited in the design of this
card series.
- 1935 Diamond Stars #77 Charlie Gehringer
(Horizontal Batting Pose)
Hall of Famer. Back-to-Back Detroit Tigers Pennants in 1934 and 1935. Batting average in 1934 & 1935 World Series was .375.
This card appears to be higher grade. The main reason for the NM grade
is some toning at the bottom of the back of the card.
- 1935 Diamond Stars #30 Heinie
Manush
Hall of Famer. 110 home
runs during his career in the major leagues. Played for the Washington
Senators from 1930-1935, and then the Boston Red Sox - American League team
during the 1936 season. This card is a definate upgrade candidate in my
opinion. There are only tiny touches of wear to two of the corners.
