(LOT #176) 1926 Spalding Baseball Lot of 4 PSA8's (Incl. Hofmann, Bancroft,
Wright, Schalk)
The 1926 Spalding
set were small cards (1-1/2" X 2-1/4") in black & white.
They were issued in November 1926 from the Sports Company of
America which was a San Francisco publishing firm. The series
was
produced for A.G. Spalding & Bros. Each card was issued in a wax
paper bag. The cards feature ornate framed
photos at center, with "CHAMPIONS" at top center. The
player's name and sport in a second ornate frame at the bottom. Most
backs have biographical data and career notes, but some are seen
with advertising offering an album for the pieces. Nearly 50
baseball players are known from a list of 175 male and female
athletes from various sports.

in this lot are
four high grade baseball players each in fantastic PSA 8 condition.
