(LOT #117) 1910 D322 Tip Top Bread Secretary Locke SGC 70 - None Grade Higher

From a series of 25 World's Champions of the 1909 Pittsburgh Pirates.  Card back has a checklist of the "World's Champions" team players featured in this series.  This card was included as a premium with Tip-Top Bread distributed by the Ward-Mackey Company.  The back says, "Save 50 labels from TIP-TOP BREAD and secure this entire series (25 cards) free.

Outstanding card of Secretary Locke.  Out of 15 graded examples on the SGC population report there are none that grade higher with only two SGC 70's.  Has the appearance of a strong EX-MT card, but because of centering it sits in an EX+ holder.  One of the two SGC 70 Tip-Top Bread Locke's sold at auction on 3/6/08 for $2,637.
